Lauretta Crites is an art quilter and has some fun new ideas and mediums to use. It will be fun to learn a new medium to use in quilting. A lowly mailing envelope might become your new favorite “fabric”. In this class, you’ll learn how the durable material known as Tyvek can be painted and manipulated in a variety of ways to add dimensional embellishments to your art quilts. Painted Tyvek is one of the techniques she demonstrated on Quilting Arts TV and represents “up-cycling” at its best.
You will need to purchase her kit. She will have them at the class. The cost is $10.00 paid directly to Lauretta at the class.
You will spend the class time working on painting and creating the Tyvek leaves for our pumpkin wall hanging. We will also prepare and shade the pumpkin applique unit. The border piecing and quilting will be done outside of class.
You will need to wear clothes that you don't mind if they get soiled.
